The Challenge: Design a World, as an interpretation of the ‘Dolly-City’ delirious text
Based on Orly Castel-Bloom’s 1992 novel, the “Dolly City” project was an opportunity for us to push the boundaries of architectural language.
How do you plan a city infected by disease? Is it a planned environment or a living organism?
How do you design architecture that blurs the line between reality and delusion?
The only way to approach such a concept is with total devotio and freedom of process in media. Immerse yourself entirely, abandon physical constraints, be completely expressive with space and mass.
